Go Bills!
During our first season and certainly over several episodes in Season 2 where we had guests that were Bills fans, we’ve certainly spent a decent amount of time talking about the Buffalo Bills and their fandom. Certainly this season we’ve not had nearly as much discussion, and so it’s time for a little bit of discussion about the Bills. Of course, apologies in advance for anyone who’s not a Bills fan, I appreciate you even reading this far into it!
We’ve spent a good amount of time talking on the show about the Bills fans and what a Super Bowl victory would mean for the Bills, and certainly going into the 2023-2024 season, we had high hopes for the Bills. Unfortunately, there’s been multiple misfires and it’s certainly looking rough for the Bills even making the post season. I think one of the most frustrating parts this season is that we’ve seen time and time again that the Bills have the talent, they just don’t always execute right, and there’s been plenty of blame thrown around and speculation as to the cause of the problems.
On the one hand, it’s easy to blame a single individual or a bad call, or even just write off the NFL as being “rigged”, but as was the case last year, sometimes the perfect storm just seems to hit Buffalo and it’s multiple things that bring us off track. As a fan, I’d like to think that the Bills have sorted out many of the issues, but it’s tough to know when there’s far too many variables that factor into a game and a team is a living thing, sometimes you just need to embrace the mentality of going week-to-week. The Bills are fighting for their season now, nearly every commentator has written off Josh Allen for his interceptions this season, and the Bills have an incredibly challenging remainder of their season before them.
The Bills are currently in that tough place of having nothing to prove except to themselves that they won’t be count out, and they’ve done well in this place before. I obviously can’t predict what we’ll see or if it’ll get the Bills where they need to go this year, but on the eve of their game with the Chiefs, I’m hoping for a heck of a statement in their play tomorrow. Go Bills!
